History

The 1 Tonne Forward Control vehicle was crafted based on the renowned Land Rover series, fulfilling the British Army's need for a light gun tractor capable of carrying 1 tonne of ammunition and other gear in its cargo area.

These vehicles needed to be air transportable, and by placing the Rover V8 engine behind the cab, the bonnet was eliminated, resulting in their characteristic flat-front appearance. These compact yet powerful 4x4s upheld the successful legacy of Land Rover in military applications.
